Beyond Spectrum is a club for autistic boys and girls, who have social challenges. The club comprises a mixture of autistic and non autistic boys and girls. The objective of Beyond Spectrum club is to allow autistic boys and girls the opportunity to have social engagement with peers in varying environments, and create a sense of acceptance.
Sporting activities are a great opportunity for social and emotional development. The focus is team work and sharing responsibility with team mates.
In addition to boosting cardiovascular fitness and strength, physical activity can make great improvement in coordination, fine motor skills, self-control and the ability to focus on a task.
Art is a means of exploring each other’s creativity and sharing ideas with others. It can be an effective way to communicate and fullfill sensory needs.
Hands-on science activities help integrate learning. Science activities connects life experiences with reason.
